What’s happening in the natural hair community. We have learned recently that Isis Brantley, the much vibrant and vocal spokeswoman for African American natural hair, is suing the state of Texas for the right to teach hair braiding. Texas is supposed to be a business friendly place and yet some people have to jump through hoops in order to do business there, so much for less regulation.
In case you don’t know, Isis Brantley is a Dallas based hairbraider, clients include diva like Erykah Badu among others. She won the battle before over just braiding clients hair in her studio which was deemed unlawful because she didn’t have a cosmetology license, which is an issue that black communities have had to deal with a lot.Now the government is going after her for teaching hair braiding. ‘Click Here For The Full Article‘
