Using DIY Homemade Sea Moss Gel For Shiny & Soft Natural Hair Growth

Whitney shows how to make an easy homemade DIY Sea Moss Hair Gel recipe in today’s video. She uses the Irish Sea Moss wildcrafted, raw, and sun-dried as the name suggested.

What is Sea Moss?

Sea Moss is quickly becoming popular as natural algae for its health benefits when consumed internally. You can also use it on your hair to benefit your scalp. Sea Moss contains rich minerals and vitamins that work well for hair and skin. These minerals and vitamins are as follows Iron, Magnesium, Calcium, Phosphorus, Zinc, Selenium, Vitamins A, C, E, K, B, and Omega 3 and 6.

What Does Sea Moss Do?

That’s not all. It also contains Anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, anti-bacterial, and anti-viral. It has the added satisfaction of releasing toxins, relieves irritation, strengthens the hair follicle, relieves irritation of your scalp, and condition your hair for a healthy-looking hair shine.

What To Look For?

According to Whitney, you need to look for wildcrafted Irish sea moss as it contains the most nutrients. You can create one batch to use right away or plan for future use by making a bigger batch.

How To Create Sea Moss Recipe?

In a small bowl, use one-half cut of dried-up sea moss mix with distilled or filtered water. Let it expand and soften by allowing it to sit in your fridge for at least 8 hours. After letting it sit in your fridge for 8 hours or overnight, drain the water and remove any bugs or insects.

Using a small saucepan, add more distilled or filtered water, enough to cover the moss. Boil on medium-high heat. Make sure to stir occasionally so it doesn’t burn your pan’s bottom. After a while, the sea moss structure disintegrated and turned into a creamy gel. You can use it as is, or you can dilute it by adding your favorite oil mixture and one-half a cup of water into a blender, which resulted in a nice creamy smooth gel. If you want a thick silky consistency, just let it sit to settle.

How To Apply Sea Moss Gel?

Wash the hair with your favorite shampoo and conditioner. Once your coils are hydrated, it’s time to add your homemade sea moss gel. Grab a handful of gel and smooth it throughout your hair. It will help to moisturize and define the curls for that shiny look. Rinse and repeat each section and watch it soak into your natural hair. That’s it.
